Pulled into the chaos, Jackie and Jilal are thrown first into a medieval realm and later into a futuristic one, where each season blends local adventures with the larger mission of tracking down the escaped monsters. Along the way, they discover that the seemingly benevolent dragon Marii is in fact the Monster Queen manipulating them toward her own return.
